Origin:
Derived from tumour of thigh (unknown histology) of 8 year old Golden Retriever which had a previous history of mammary adenocarcinoma. Susceptible to canine corona-, canine Ad type I and II, canine herpes, canine parainfluenza and canine parvo- viruses. A canine parvovirus related to Feline panleukopenia virus has been recovered from A-72 cells. Use for efficacy testing.

AddexBio-formulated Leibovitz's L-15 Medium (C0006-01)

+ 10% FBS (Note: The L-15 medium formulation was devised for use in a free gas exchange with atmospheric air. A CO2 and air mixture is detrimental to cells when using this medium for cultivation)
When 70-80% confluent using 0.25% trypsin or trypsin/EDTA, subculture at 1:3 to 1:8; feed cells 2 to 3 times weekly. Culture at 100% Air (or tightly close the cap), 37°C.
Complete culture medium supplemented with 5% (v/v) DMSO I
