Disease:
Polyploid carcinoma, rectum carcinoma
Origin:
From a 19 month old male mouse (C57BL/1CRF) which had received an i.p. injection of MAMA each week for 18 months. 4th in vivo passage - source of explant culture. Cells form acini and junctional complexes and produce large tumours in nude mice (6 x 1,000,000 cells inoculum) after 1 month. Tumors developed in nude mice within 21 days at 100% frequency (5/5) in nude mice inoculated subcutaneously with 10(7) cells
