Ion Channel Assays (Calcium Channels, CFTR Channels, Membrane Exchangers, pHi regulators)

Ion channels are multi-transmembrane proteins that help establish and control the small voltage gradient cross the plasma membrane of all living cells by allowing the flow of ions down their electrochemical gradient. Furthermore, many ion channels have been well recognized as important therapeutic targets for treating a number of diseases, including cardiovascular disease, brain disorders and cancers. Ion channels are currently the second most common targets for existing drugs. We have over 20 years of expertise in ion channel physiology and pathology. We carried out studies on Ca2+ channels, K+ channels, CFTR channels, Na+/Ca2+ exchangers (NCX), and ion channels and exchangers to regulate pHi. We offer ion channel functional cell-based assays using the state-of-the-art platform. Since we have not only CHO and HEK cell lines that are stably transfected with hERG, TRPV, CFTR channels and NCX1, but also primary human cells functionally expressing these ion channels, we can evaluate the effects of lead compounds on these ion channels and exchangers in both transfected cell lines and primary human cells.
