Functional Activity:

ROX dyes are used to label peptides, proteins, and other biological ligands, and widely used for oligonucleotide labeling and automated DNA sequencing applications. 5-ROX, 6-ROX and their mixture 5(6)-ROX are used to label biomolecules by EDC-mediated reactions. Conjugates of this dye have longer-wavelength spectra than the spectra of Lissamine^? rhodamine B conjugates, but somewhat shorter-wavelength spectra than those of Texas Red conjugates.
